Germantown, MD – Allegheny Science & Technology Corporation (AST) has been re-awarded a three year, $85 million Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Mission Oriented Technical Support (MOTS) services in support of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).

First awarded in September 2014, the BPA to provide professional and engineering services across EERE’s five major technology areas and offices (Energy Efficiency, Renewable Power, Transportation, Strategic Programs and Business Operations) came under protest two separate times.

Arria Hines, president and CEO, Allegheny Science & Technology, said, “We are extremely pleased with the decision from GAO and ready to get to work for our customer. AST has remained prepared for the transition of this work and we’re eager to move beyond this protest period with an absolute focus on delivering the best talent to support the EERE mission.”

EERE leads the U.S. Department of Energy’s efforts to develop and deliver market-driven solutions for energy-saving homes, buildings, and manufacturing; sustainable transportation; and renewable electricity generation. AST will lead its team of strategic partners providing scientific, engineering and technical support to EERE as it continues to accelerate development and facilitates deployment of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.

“This represents significant growth for our company and job opportunities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, especially those interested in supporting EERE”, added Hines. AST has been providing expertise in Program Management & Integration Services (PMIS) for more than three years as a prime contractor for DOE’s Office of Nuclear Energy (NE) with significant operations in Idaho Falls, ID and Germantown, MD.
